Every company tries to be ahead of the news during CES, which is mainly done by making the biggest announcements before the trade show in Las Vegas even starts. This year, Asus kicked things off with the announcement of the ZenFone AR. This marks the second phone to support Google Tango, the company’s AR platform originally debuted in Lenovo’s PHAB2 Pro. This is all thanks to Asus’ partner Qualcomm, who unveiled the handset early alongside @evleaks on Twitter who has supplied us with pictures of the front and the back of the phone.

The ZenFone AR will also be Google Daydream-ready, making it the first phone to combine Tango and Daydream at the same time. Looking at the Qualcomm blog post, it seems like the ZenFone AR will also be compatible with Google’s Daydream View headset, a perk for those who already own one of the headsets or is tempted to pick one up without having to buy a Pixel or Pixel XL.

The ZenFone AR will use a Snapdragon 821 processor, same as in the OnePlus 3T and Google Pixel, but that’s about all we know. For full specs and pricing of the ZenFone AR, stay tuned for the Taiwanese company’s CES press conference on Wednesday.
