Most Americans right now are probably gearing up for November 25th. In other words, Black Friday is almost here. Therefore, plenty of retailers are rushing to spread the word about their discounts and various deals that’ll take place Thanksgiving evening and into Saturday morning. One deal that’s definitely worth a note here is one Best Buy is having on the Google Home, Google’s answer to Amazon Echo powered by the Google Assistant. Starting Thanksgiving, customers can get the air freshener-look-alike for just $99, $30 cheaper than the standard $129 asking price.
In case you aren’t aware, Google Home is powered by Google’s new AI voice assistant simply called the Google Assistant. This platform is currently also available for use on the Google Pixel and Pixel XL alongside the rather controversial messaging app Allo. You can use the Assistant on Home to control your smart home accessories, get a daily briefing on calendar appointments, weather information, and what’s on your to-do list, activate your Chromecast devices to begin playing content, and more. All of this functionality is packed into a body that resembles an Air Wick air freshener with a speaker as the base, touch controls on the top, and lights that activate when voice control is in use. No doubt does this device make for a great competitor to Amazon’s Echo, and since this particular smart home accessory costs $179, you can get the Home for almost half the price come Black Friday. That’s really sweet.
To be more specific, Thanksgiving evening at 5PM ET is when the Google Home sale will begin. It’ll extend to Saturday, November 26th, and not be limited to just in-store or online purchases. Anywhere Best Buy sells their merch, you can get this $30 discount. Click here to learn more.
