Apple’s AirPods Launch Has Been Delayed Because They Aren’t Ready Yet

In a statement given to TechCrunch, Apple has announced that the anticipated launch date for their wireless headphones known as AirPods has been delayed until further notice. If you recall, back in September, the company said the earbuds would launch at the end of October, but since we’re just 5 days away from November, it’s pretty clear there’s a fat chance we won’t see the accessories debut on the market until later.

Here’s the full statement released to the press.

“The early response to AirPods has been incredible. We don’t believe in shipping a product before it’s ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers,” an Apple spokesperson told TechCrunch.

Via the information in the statement, it’s made known that there must be something within the current version of the AirPods that’s keeping them from launching. In other words, a vital flaw or bug could be keeping Apple from sending the headphones out to retailers. In recent memory, the last time Apple delayed a product launch was for watchOS 2 when it was discovered an issue in the operating system needed addressing before the update could go live. This may be the same case here for the AirPods.

While early reviewers haven’t experienced any major bugs with the AirPods, it’s probably safe to assume that something serious must’ve gone wrong with the model Apple planned to ship. Whatever that issue may be, hopefully it’s resolved soon so the public can get their hands on the company’s $159 earbuds.
