Report: Samsung to Resume Note 7 Sales in US Oct. 21st, LG V20 May Launch Same Day

A new report by VentureBeat has surfaced some more details regarding the issues with Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7. Since all sales of the handset have come to a halt, the question has risen as to when the company will begin selling the 2016 flagship once again in carriers and through their own stores. According to the publication, the Korean company will begin selling the device in the US starting October 21st.

While Samsung may be resuming sales of the recalled Galaxy Note7 in its home country of South Korea as soon as next week — September 28 — it will be a full month before American consumers can purchase the replacement handsets. Carriers in the United States are preparing for a relaunch on Friday, October 21, according to a planning document obtained by VentureBeat.

Unfortunately, we’re gonna have to wait another month until the device goes back on sale, however we really shouldn’t complain. This will no doubt give Samsung enough time to repair any current issues with the Note 7 (like the fact that it explodes) and hopefully resolve any that could surface in the future. So in all reality, we shouldn’t complain about the month long wait ahead of us.

Also found in this report is a reference to the LG V20. If you recall about two weeks ago, LG didn’t say anything about when the device would go on sale. However, VentureBeat claims that October 21st seems to be the date of both the Galaxy Note 7 relaunch and the V20 initial launch.

That’s the same day sales of LG’s second-half flagship, the dual-screened V20, are scheduled to begin in the U.S.

Up until this point, we haven’t seen or heard anything about an actual launch date for the V20, so take this leak with a grain of salt until we hear something more concrete. However, it is nice to see some hints as to when we can expect the handset to launch in full.

It’s worth noting that none of this information shared in this article is confirmed yet, so take this into consideration when creating assumptions. We’ve still got another month ahead of us until we actually may see the Note 7 return to the market alongside see the launch of the V20, so hang in there.
