ZTE’s recently launched Axon 7 has definitely gone over well in the tech community and overall the entire world. However, it appears that the company isn’t done with the handset yet, as today at IFA 2016, ZTE unveiled a cheaper variant of the smartphone called the Axon 7 Mini.

It seems proper to call this handset the Axon 7 Mini. The specs are a bit less impressive and the screen is smaller, plus it costs less. So if you’ve been holding off from buying your own Axon 7, you may wanna check out this option and save a few bucks.

For starters, there’s a smaller 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1080 on the Mini over the 5.5-inch display on the standard Axon 7 with a resolution of 2560×1440. However, both screens are AMOLED.

Inside, you’ll find a Snapdragon 617 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, Android Marshmallow, a 2750mAh battery, Quick Charge 2.0, and no custom DAC. For reference, the bigger Axon 7 includes a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM (minimum), 64GB of storage (minimum), a 20MP rear camera and 8MP front camera, Android Marshmallow, a 3250mAh battery, Quick Charge 3.0, and a custom DAC for better listening. While the last difference may sound disappointing to some, do note that ZTE says they’ve still enhanced the audio output on the Axon 7 Mini, so you shouldn’t be missing out on much, especially since there’s two front-facing speakers on the Mini just like the bigger version.

Metal makes up the body of the Axon 7 Mini, while the fingerprint for the device remains on the back. This seems to be a design trend lately as it’s a pretty natural place for your finger to rest, hence making it easy to unlock your phone. A USB-C port is used on the bottom of the device for charging and data transfer. All in all, this phone looks very promising and should provide users with a pleasant experience.

€299 UVP (around $335) will be all you’ll have to pay for the ZTE Axon 7 Mini when it launches this month in Russia, Germany, Spain, Poland, Japan, Australia, India and Saudi Arabia. The US will also be getting the handset, however pricing and availability isn’t known at this time.
