Nowadays, good phones are getting cheap and cheap phones are getting good. And the latest addition to BLU’s family is definitely no exception to this statement. Called the Pure XR, this smartphone includes almost flagship-level specs for a price under $300…

For starters, the BLU Pure XR includes a all-aluminum body which will make the phone probably slippery but sturdy to some extent. Spec wise, a 5.5-inch 1080p SuperAMOLED display which is covered by Gorilla Glass 3 and includes 3D Touch. This is to bring the level of interaction with your phone up a notch or two, however it’ll be interesting to see how BLU interprets this feature as many manufactures (like Apple and Meizu) do it pretty differently than each other.

On the inside, you’re getting a MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor paired with a Mali-T860 GPU. RAM wise, 4GB is present which is very unexpected at this device’s price range and is usually only seen in flagship smartphones two or even three times its price. For storing all your apps, there’s a nice and hefty 64GB of available space, while microSD card expansion is supported by up to an extra 64GB.

For taking pictures and selfies, there’s a 16MP camera on the back and an 8MP front sensor. To power all this goodness, there’s a relatively hefty 3000mAh battery which is charged via a bottom-mounted USB-C port. A fingerprint sensor is also included on the Pure XR, while Android 6.0 Marshmallow is present to bring a nice software experience to the phone. All in all, these specs really make for a great phone, so it’ll probably bewilder you a bit when you find out just how much the phone’ll cost you…

Starting today, you can pick up the BLU Pure XR from Amazon or Best Buy in either gray or gold for just $299. That’s extremely affordable for a phone with these kinds of specs. AT&T, T-Mobile, and MetroPCS will be the carriers where the phone will be supported, while a contest is being held by BLU themselves for three lucky contestants to win their own Pure XR just by entering their name, email, and age. You can learn more about the contest and enter to win via this link.

Will you be buying the Pure XR?
