9to5Mac has published a report citing a reliable source claiming that Apple will indeed include an OLED touch bar and Touch ID sensor on the upcoming 2016 MacBook Pro models. This article works in conjunction with the previous KGI note that was released which stated the same thing.
The news site doesn’t state anything else we didn’t already know, however they do state that their source has provided them with reliable information in the past which has led to actual moves by Apple. So as of now, it looks like we could see an OLED touch bar which will replaced the Function keys on the MacBook Pro’s keyboard alongside a Touch ID sensor possibly placed on the power button where it would make the most sense.
Previous reports stated that the 2016 MacBook Pros would remain as the top-tier laptops Apple offers, while a new 13-inch version of the MacBook would be made mid-tier and the MacBook Air would remain as an entry-level option.
Other features of the 2016 MacBook Pro are rumored to be USB-C compatibility with built-in Thunderbolt 3 support, a thinner design, and possibly various color options like the MacBook.
We’ll stay on top of this subject and bring you any new information we obtain.
