In case you missed it, newcomers to the world of smartphones Wileyfox have announced three new Android-powered handsets that are pretty much the perfect balance between specs and price. These devices, known as the Spark, Spark+, and Spark X respectively, all share similar internals, however feature different characteristics to better suit their assigned names.
The Spark features a 5-inch 1280×720 HD display, a quad-core MediaTek 1.3GHz processor coupled with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage which is expandable via microSD card, two 8MP cameras (one on the front and back), two SIM trays, and a 2200mAh battery. The Spark+ shares all the same internals, however boosts the RAM and storage up to 2GB and 16GB respectively while also giving the camera system a 13MP sensor on the rear.
The Spark X includes all the same internal specifications as the Spark+, however gives users a bigger 5.5-inch display which carries over the same 720p resolution alongside a 3000mAh battery to accommodate the larger form factor.
Each Spark device runs Cyanogen OS 13 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow thanks to a partnership between Wileyfox and Cyanogen. This means that customization is pretty much the name of the game, allowing you to tweak virtually almost anything you see on the screen to better suit your liking. There’s also a high level of security, so don’t be worried that your valuable personal information will get stolen.
The standard Spark handset will start at £90 (roughly around $121) and go up from there depending on what model you get. Preorders for this particular device have already begun, while we’ll have to wait until the end of July to get our hands on the Spark+ and Spark X.
