ZTE has officially announced the latest edition to their lineup of smartphones, and this one is their 2016 flagship. It’s called the Axon 7, and it’s a beast on a budget. No, seriously. It’s literally a beast of a smartphone that costs just $450.

Here’s a rundown of the specs:

  • All-metal unibody w/ rounded corners
  • 5.5-inch 2560×1440 AMOLED display w/ pressure sensitivity (similar to 3D Touch on iPhone 6s) and Google Daydream capability
  • Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.2GHz
  • 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage
  • microSD card slot (up to 128GB)
  • 20MP rear camera w/ optical image stabilization (OIS), f/1.8 aperature, 4K video
  • 8MP front camera
  • Fingerprint sensor on rear
  • USB-C port for charging via Qualcomm’s QuickCharge 3.0 and data transfer
  • 3250mAh battery
  • Dual stereo front-facing speakers
  • Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow (will be upgraded to Android N when it launches)

As you can see, you’re getting a lot for under $500. In fact, most companies would charge something like $700 for a smartphone like this when considering the specifications. Even with the 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM, you’re still paying under that amount at $640.

The ZTE Axon 7 is indeed coming to the US and will work on AT&T, T-Mobile, and more when it launches. The device will  be available through ZTE’s online store, Amazon, Best Buy, B&H, eBay and Newegg. It also will come with a free 2-year warranty in case something happens to your phone. The exact launch date isn’t confirmed yet, but we’ll let you know when that information is obtained.

Unfortunately, ZTE doesn’t plan on bringing the more powerful 6GB RAM version of the Axon 7 to the US, however we’ll let you know if it ever does make it to the States or if the company changes their minds.
