“Philly Jesus” Gets Handcuffs at Local Apple Store

A 29-year-old man named Michael Grant was arrested in Center City, Philadelphia inside a local Apple Store dressed as the Son of God himself, Jesus Christ.

The reason for the costume? Apparently, Grant is known around the city as “Philly Jesus” due to the fact that he resembles the religious figure. When locals spot him, they stop to take a selfie or two and go about their day. Personally, I don’t find any fault in this, but I’ll leave it up to you guys in the comments.

Anyway, it’s unclear why he was arrested, however employees at the store were requesting that he leaves, which he never did until he was dragged out in handcuffs. A similar incident happened before when people were asking Philly Jesus to leave the Dilworth Plaza in the city, resulting in Grant’s first arrest. People were actually beginning to tweet about the incident, citing the hashtag #FreePhillyJesus which eventually began trending.

Philly Jesus’ court appearance will be held on May 17th.
