AT&T has begun to roll out an update to Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge models locked to their network. This update brings bug fixes and security improvements while also including April’s security patch which began to roll out at the beginning of this month.
With a weight of 170MB, this security patch includes over 20 fixes for serious bugs security flaws found by the Android and Google security teams alongside other independent researchers. This update also addresses some touch screen problems with the S7 and S7 Edge which is also to blame for the size of the download.
If you want to download the new update for your device, wait until you get notified. You can also manually check for the update by heading to Settings > About phone > Software Update. This will manually check for any available downloads and prompt you to start the process. I suggest having a full battery or being on a charger and switch over to Wi-Fi beforehand so there’s no sudden interruptions during the download and installation process and you don’t get charged for going over your data limit.
