This weekend, Amazon is dropping the price of their Prime membership service to just $73 for the first year – down from the original $99. This comes as the company hopes for more people to sign up for Prime thanks to the fact that members get an extra 20% off video games.
The discount will officially be live tonight at 9 PM PT and will end on Sunday at 11:59 PM local time. All the benefits of Prime will remain the same for people who sign up for the service and pay just $73.
Amazon Prime is Amazon’s membership service where people who sign up can access free on-demand TV show, movie, and music streaming, free two day shipping on all orders via Amazon.com eligible for Prime, 20% off video games available for pre-order and two weeks after they launch, unlimited cloud-based photo storage, and other benefits.
You can thank Amazon’s two Golden Globe wins for their Prime exclusive show Mozart in the Jungle last Sunday for this discount, as Amazon is celebrating the accomplishment by giving us this awesome discount on Prime along with the ability to stream the first two seasons of Mozart in the Jungle, whether you’re on Prime or you haven’t signed up all together.
