Yeah, Steve, we feel ya…

Yes, yes, yes, the title is correct. That’s right. No misprints. Plenty of autocorrect. And no false advertising.

According to Cult of Mac, Apple makes more money in just one and a half minutes than Aaron Sorkin’s Steve Jobs biopic did this past weekend.

Yup, it’s true. And it doesn’t come as a surprise to most people.
Alright, that’s enough joking around (we’re looking at you, Ron!).

Anyway, according to the data Cult of Mac provided in their post, it states that the movie is only playing in 326 theaters (all together), most theaters dropped the film caused by low earnings, and the fact that the movie only made another $394,000 this past weekend.

To put that in perspective, it’s only a little over 1/100 of what Spectre made during the same period, less than Steve Jobs earned when it was playing on just four screens in Los Angeles and New York earlier this year, and slightly less than Apple brings in in revenue in one-and-half minutes. Yikes! – Cult of Mac author LUKE DORMEHL

According to this infographic, Apple makes $4,540. A second. That’s $272,400 a minute. And yeah, we’re comparing a movie’s earnings to one of the biggest (if not the biggest) technology companies on Planet Earth. Just a reminder of how crazily successful Apple is… and how underwhelming this movie has proven as a financial investment.
